Ettinger’s Factoids is the cream of the crop from the latest Ettinger’s Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine (8thedition; 2017). The editors have selected the most instructive, memorable, surprising, important, or counterintuitive key facts that they felt stood out from each chapter. Together, this collection lets users – students, residents, veterinarians – quickly cover key points in an electronic flashcard format. It is ideal for reviewing for student or board exams, for brushing up on new information, and for learning or reinforcing the essential aspects of canine and feline internal medicine.

Features include:

• 820 individual entries drawn directly from the textbook

• Covers the whole book: at least 1 entry from each of the 360 chapters

• Shuffle function to review by random selection
• Tags (Favorite, Revisit, Knew It!) to create your customized subcollections for review

• Notes for adding your own comments
• Search function to find all facts containing a particular keyword

• Chapter title and author name for each fact to look up further information if desired

This app is designed for at least three uses:
• Because you dont have a ton of time (the app is the editors selection of the most important key facts out of all 2200+ pages of the current edition)

• To prep for boards ranging including NAVLE® and ACVIM, ECVIM, and other specialty exams

• Reviewing the latest information for your own interest and lifelong learning

About the authors:

Dr. Stephen Ettinger is a household name in small animal medicine. He graduated from Cornell in 1964 and was one of the first veterinarians to specialize in cardiology, being a charter (founding) diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1974. He has trained hundreds of students, general practitioners, and specialists. He is best known as the creator and editor of the Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the most highly respected veterinary resource for internal medical disorders of dogs and cats – the masterwork that gave rise to the factoids in this app.

Dr. Ed Feldman is one of the great pioneers of small animal internal medicine and specifically of canine and feline endocrinology. His work on Cushings disease, hyperparathyroidism, and several other commonly-recognized disorders have made him the benchmark for this specialty in veterinary medicine worldwide. He is the co-author of Canine and Feline Endocrinology (4 editions), co-editor of the Textbook of Veterinary Medicine for the past 5 editions (and this app) and of over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles that have defined how veterinarians around the globe identify and treat endocrine diseases.

Dr. Etienne Côté is a professor and cardiologist at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI in Canada. He is best known for creating the Clinical Veterinary Advisor textbook, and for lectures that have garnered several teaching awards. He is the proud third co-editor of this edition of "Ettingers" and of this app.
